UG PRO-VC WISHES ATHLETES WELL

PRO-VC VISIT TEAM UG

 

 

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic & Student Affairs here at the University of Ghana and the Chairperson of the 26th GUSA Games, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo wishes all athletes the best and hopes that the University would be successful in hosting a casualty free GUSA games. She said this after her tour of the sports facilities and meeting some of the Sub-Committees and Volunteers for the sporting competition.

"My expectations are that we put up a very competitive sport in all the areas and I expect that we have an incident free games. I am looking forward to having games that is free from any major health casualties. Above all, I am expecting that UG wins the most medals. We have put in so much effort so we need to see the medals come home." She said.

The Director of the University of Ghana Sports Directorate, Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu who also spoke to the 2020 GUSA  Media Team, expressed his satisfaction on the work done by the University and members of the Local Organising Committee of 2020 GUSA Games.

"I have to be content and satisfied, in fact I am very satisfied. If you ask me to rate it, some people are saying it is an African Cup standard, some say it meets Olympic standard but for me it is a normal thing. This is where I want others to start from. GUSA deserves to have these in terms of delivery decades ago and I want to make a statement." 

Dr. Bello further indicated that UG wants to set a new standard and a pace when it comes to the organisation of GUSA Games.

University of Ghana is currently hosting the 26th edition of the Ghana Universities Sports Association Games  which started from the 3rd to 19th January 2020.
