Legon Tennis Club Presents 500 cedis

Also, Legon Tennis Club on Thursday presented an amount of 500 Ghana Cedis to the Sports Directorate. According to the president of the club, Dr. David Wilson, his outfit decided to make their donation to support the GUSA games because of their continuous collaboration with the Sports Directorate.

“We have been working hand in hand with the University of Ghana Sports Directorate in terms of leisure tennis playing, tournaments over the years and so when we heard of the ongoing GUSA games, we thought it fit to bring our widow's mite to support tennis players specifically but the games in general” he said.

Speaking at a brief ceremony for the donation, Director of Sports of the University of Ghana, Dr. Bella Bello Bitugu expressed his appreciation to the Legon Tennis Club and further encouraged other fraternities on campus to follow such moves to support the directorate.

“The quantum of the money doesn’t matter and we are so appreciative of the gesture and support because if all the fraternities at the University will go this way, I don’t think we would need any support from outside. I think it is very thoughtful, very wise and encouraging that we have been given this support. This is second support we have gotten from the University after UGBS. We are so grateful for this and I think this will go a long way to tell others it is good to help and support each other.” he said.
