The Acting General Secretary for the Ghana Universities Sports Association, Mr. Timothy Mensah has entreated all officiating officials of the various sporting disciplines to exhibit professionalism and integrity in their various officiating departments.

“The games belong to the students and we supervise, so if you have any grievances whatsoever, report and let’s see how we can solve it rather than  taking the law into your own hands. In fact, we have stopped a group of officiating officials from coming to officiate; therefore we must all show some level of professionalism.” He stated.

Mr. Timothy Mensah was speaking at a meeting held between the executives of GUSA and officiating officials for this year’s GUSA 2020 games being hosted by the University of Ghana.

Speaking at the same event held at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate, Technical Committee Chairman of GUSA, Mr. Ibrahim Tanko indicated that referees must work according to the rules and regulations of the games to ensure that the beauty of the games is not marred.

“GUSA is spending so much, sinking so much money into this competition so we wouldn’t want a situation where the beauty of the games is brought into disrepute.” He added.
